Nubians

The people of the Nile between Aswan and Khartoum, whose Christian kingdoms stopped the Arab advance in 652 and survived seven centuries under the Baqt, a treaty requiring an annual delivery of 360 slaves. Christian Nubia collapsed between 1317 and 1504 and left no congregation behind; Nubians today are Muslim, and were displaced again by the Aswan High Dam.
