Today it opens by saying massacres and acts of terror “were conducted by and against both sides” and then describes only “a campaign of massacres and violence against the Arab population”.

Palestinian expulsion from Lydda and Ramle
Section titled “Palestinian expulsion from Lydda and Ramle”The 2015 opening carried a scholarly note about the 1948 occupation of Lydda. Today it opens with “hundreds of Palestinians were killed in multiple mass killings, including the Lydda massacre” and the “Lydda death march”. This is the direction the encyclopedia moves when the victims are on the other side.
