Goy / Goyim

Hebrew: גּוֹי / גּוֹיִם

Hebrew for nation (plural goyim, “nations”). In the Torah it describes peoples in general, including Israel itself, called a goy kadosh, a holy nation. It later came to mean simply a non-Jew, and despite a popular claim, the word is not a slur. It is the ordinary, neutral term, however a given speaker may color it.
