Binyamin Ze'ev Kahane: what Wikipedia removed

Binyamin Ze’ev Kahane, son of Rabbi Meir Kahane, led the Kach and Kahane Chai movements before he was assassinated by Palestinian militants in 2000. The 2005 opening stated that “in 1994 both groups were declared terrorists and outlawed by the Israeli Government, following their statements in support of the mass killings of 29 Arabs in the Cave of the Patriarchs by Baruch Goldstein.” Today the opening says nothing about that designation, though the word survives twice in the body. A reader today learns Kahane was assassinated by Palestinian militants but not that the Israeli government itself outlawed his own movements as terrorist organizations.

Israeli rabbi and activist (1966–2000) Binyamin Ze’ev Kahane ( Hebrew : בנימין זאב כהנא ; 3 October 1966 – 31 December 2000) was an American-Israeli Orthodox rabbi and the son of Rabbi Meir Kahane . He was assassinated by Palestinian militants in 2000. His wife, Talia, was also killed in the attack, leaving behind six young children.
