Settler-Colonialism

An academic frame that casts Jews as foreign European colonists planted in someone else’s land, the way Britain colonised Kenya. It collapses on the facts: Jews are indigenous to this land, with a 3,000-year continuous presence; they returned to a homeland rather than acting for any mother country; and most Israeli Jews are Mizrahi and Sephardi, refugees from the Middle East and North Africa, not Europeans. A colonizer enriches a metropole back home; the Jews had none to enrich.
