This article covers Iran’s diplomatic relations with the Palestinian territories, including Iran’s ties to Hamas since it took power in Gaza. Through 2010 the opening described Hamas is a militant and political organization currently in power in the Gaza Strip. Today the opening discusses statements by Khamenei and Ahmadinejad on Palestine without characterizing Hamas at all, though militant survives once in the body.
