Aharon Yariv: what Wikipedia removed

Aharon Yariv was an Israeli general and intelligence chief who, after the 1972 Munich massacre of Israeli Olympic athletes, became Golda Meir’s adviser on counterterrorism. The 2010 opening said that after the Munich Massacre in 1972 he “directed Operation Wrath of God.” Today’s opening says only that he was “an adviser to the Prime Minister on combating terror,” naming neither the Munich massacre nor the operation he directed; the word massacre survives twice elsewhere in the article. A reader today does not learn from the opening that Yariv’s counterterrorism role followed the Munich massacre or that he directed Israel’s named retaliatory operation.
