Operation Hiram: what Wikipedia removed

Operation Hiram was a 1948 IDF operation that captured the Upper Galilee. Through 2005 the opening said brigades involved in the operation “committed the Safsaf massacre, in which 70 blindfolded men were executed and 3 girls raped,” and that Israeli forces at Hula “executed the remaining children, young persons, older and disabled persons in a savage massacre.” Today’s opening describes the operation only by belligerents, commanders and casualty counts, with no mention of Safsaf or Hula, though the word survives seven times in the body. A reader today does not learn from the opening that IDF brigades were reported to have massacred prisoners and villagers during the operation.
