Saad Haddad: what Wikipedia removed
Saad Haddad founded and led the Israel-backed South Lebanon Army during the Lebanese Civil War. Through 2010 the opening noted that several sources have suggested Haddad’s involvement in the Sabra and Shatila massacres in 1982. Today’s opening covers his military role and Israeli backing but omits that suggestion, with massacre gone from the opening though it survives three times elsewhere in the article. A reader today does not learn that several sources suggested Haddad’s involvement in the Sabra and Shatila massacres.
The word “massacre” appeared 1 times in this article’s opening at its peak, in 2010. Today the opening carries none; the body carries 3. Checked against the full current article on 2026-08-01.
