Yeshivat Beit Yisrael bombing: what Wikipedia removed
A Palestinian suicide bombing at a Jerusalem yeshiva during a bar mitzvah gathering in 2002 killed eleven Israeli civilians, including two infants and three children. Through 2020 the opening and the article’s own title called it “the Yeshivat Beit Yisrael massacre,” carried out by “the Palestinian Islamist militant organization al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades.” Today the word massacre is nowhere in the article, the event is titled a bombing, and the perpetrating group is described only as a Palestinian militant organization, without Islamist. A reader today does not learn that Wikipedia once called this an eleven-victim massacre or that it once named the responsible group Islamist.
