Followers of the religion of Zarathustra, the state faith of Iran for over a thousand years under the Achaemenids, Parthians and Sassanids, and an influence on Jewish, Christian and Islamic eschatology. After the Arab conquest of 651 they became a taxed minority and are now roughly twenty thousand people in Iran, with a larger community in India, the Parsis.
