Plan Dalet
The Haganah’s military plan of March 1948, drawn up as the Arab side rejected partition and war loomed, to secure the territory of the coming Jewish state and the roads linking its communities. Critics read it as a blueprint to expel Palestinians; mainstream historians read it as a military plan in a war the Arabs began, under which some villages were cleared and many more emptied by flight.
