Young Muslims Association: what Wikipedia removed

The Young Muslims Association’s Palestine branch was led by Izz al-din Qassam, the preacher whose name Hamas later gave its armed wing. Through 2010 the opening said he built support for the Association by focusing on Greater Jihad, moral uplift and helping the poor, rather than Lesser Jihad which is violence. The word jihad appears nowhere in the article today. A reader today learns nothing of the organization’s relationship to jihad, though its Palestine leader lent his name to Hamas’s military wing.

The leader in the 1930s was Izz al-din Qassam. He led a peasant revolt in the early 1930s against the sale of land to non-Muslims in Palestine. He was able to build support for the Association by focusing on Greater Jihad , moral uplift and helping the poor, rather than Lesser Jihad which is violence.
