Through 2010 the opening reported that “Lebanese Shi’a Islamist group Hizbullah claims that the Dalit and Tamar gas field belongs to Lebanon and warned Israel against extracting gas from them.” The word survives once elsewhere in the article, but the opening no longer mentions Hezbollah’s claim at all. A reader today does not learn that Hezbollah, an Islamist group, publicly claimed the field belonged to Lebanon and warned Israel against extracting from it.
