Yitzhak Rabin, Israel’s prime minister, was assassinated in 1995 by Yigal Amir over his opposition to the Oslo Accords. The 2015 opening named the assassin “an Israeli ultranationalist terrorist named Yigal Amir.” Today the opening calls him only “an Israeli law student and ultranationalist,” though terror survives seven times in the body. A reader arriving now does not learn from the opening that Wikipedia’s own text once called Rabin’s assassin a terrorist.
