Kitman

A companion of taqiyya: concealment by telling only part of the truth. Where taqiyya hides belief outright, kitman leaves the deception unspoken, quoting a soothing verse while omitting the one that abrogates it, or affirming a shared value while withholding the caveat that guts it. The literal words can be true; the impression is engineered to mislead a non-Muslim audience. It is a standard tool of Islamist messaging that lets a spokesman sound moderate without saying anything technically false.
