Khaybar

Hebrew: خيبر

A Jewish oasis north of Medina, conquered by Muhammad’s forces in 628 CE; the survivors were subjugated and made to pay tribute (jizya). Its memory drives the antisemitic chant “Khaybar, Khaybar, yā Yahūd” (“the army of Muhammad will return”), shouted at anti-Israel rallies as a threat to Jews.
